National Bible Week: Daily Reading - Always Loyal

About this article

Always Loyal

Know therefore that the LORD your
God is God, the faithful God who
maintains covenant loyalty with those
who love him and keep his commandments,
to a thousand generations.
Deuteronomy 7:9

Such a loving God Moses describes here, whose faithful love for us goes on for a thousand generations! Keep in mind that in the Bible, the number one thousand often symbolizes a number that is too big to count, so the Bible is telling us that God's love for us goes on for countless generations. All that is asked of us is that we love God back. Friendships fade, marriages break up, and yesterday's heroes and heroines are forgotten today. But our God never leaves us and never stops caring for us: no matter what.

Faithful God, your love for us knows no bounds. It is only because of your love for me that I can be faithful in return, loving you and keeping your commandments.
