Burdened with Sin

Adapted from Psalm 65:2-3
All of us sin. Virtue eludes us. As the psalmist says: "All flesh comes to God burdened with sin, overwhelmed with failings. Even so, God pardons human shortcomings."

God, we do wrong in a million ways, some small and some large. We tell small fibs and big lies. We spread rumors and even slander. . . . Help us to admit our sins and to open our hearts to your grace, the grace we need to turn back to your way, your truth, your life. And, realizing our own need for forgiveness, may we be forgiving of the faults of other people.
