Memorial of Saint John Bosco, Priest

Saint of the day

Saint John Bosco (1815-1888)

John Bosco was an educator who started schools and eventually a religious order called the Salesians. Saint John Bosco believed in educating the whole person, not just the mind but also the body and the soul. Though he trained young people for the work world, he knew that what we do in our study, our play, and our work are all important. He said that all three of these need to be connected to our faith and to our understanding of Christ’s love for us. (Taken from "Take Ten: Daily Biblical Reflections for Teens.")

Reflection

How can you keep a balance of study, play, and work in your own busy life? (Taken from “Take Ten: Daily Bible Reflections for Teens.”)

Prayer

Saint John Bosco, you were so wise and helpful to young people during your life. Help me discover the same values and balance in my life that you taught your students. (Taken from “Take Ten: Daily Bible Reflections for Teens.”)
