Overview
The ScriptureWalk series is designed to engage Catholic youth in Bible study and reflection. Each of the eight 90-minute sessions in this ScriptureWalk manual contains Bible study and activities that build community, engage youth in discussion, and introduce creative forms of prayer. Each session includes a section called "Family Connection," which gives a short, family-based follow-up idea for the session. ScriptureWalk helps the Bible come alive for young people and is intended for use in youth group meetings, religious education programs, and retreats, and as a supplement to The Catholic Youth Bible®.
ScriptureWalk Junior High: People of Promise includes sessions on what biblical figures teach us about spiritual growth, overcoming sin, promoting justice, facing persecution, and staying faithful.

Scripture Walk Junior High: People of Promise is a valuable resource to familiarize students with some of Scripture's most prominent people, and some of its lesser-known figures. Each session is packed with the kind of hands-on, interactive learning that engages young adolescents and helps them understand not only biblical peoples' stories but the real emotions they experienced. Joe Grant skillfully connects their stories to the current life experiences of young adolescents.

Joe Grant has the ability to capture young hearts by identifying with their feelings, hopes, and dreams. Then, magically turning their attention to the Scriptures, he introduces them to characters with whom they can easily identify. He not only sets the scene but also invites the young people onto the stage and prods them into action. I welcome another resource from Saint Mary's Press with techniques that work with ease.
