Becoming a Peacemaker

Minicourse Appropriate for Grades Eleven and Twelve

The focal point for this minicourse on peacemaking is the rich concept of shalom, the Hebrew word that is often translated "peace." Shalom suggests not only harmony among members of the human family but also a proper relationship between individual persons and their God.

In this course, young people learn the practical skills of peacemaking and then how to apply those skills to common adolescent situations. Becoming a Peacemaker speaks of peace as a reality that must begin within each person and then expand to the world of personal and group relationships. The course challenges young people to make the Christian vision of shalom a reality in their own lives and beyond.
