Scott Holzknecht
Scott Holzknecht is a teacher of Catholic social justice at Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky, where he graduated in 1997.
Scott received his BA from Xavier University and his MA in spirituality from Bellarmine University and the Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
In addition to his classroom duties, Scott remains immersed in justice issues at Trinity by leading Justice Walking groups, participating in spring break alternative trips, and heading a chapter of the St. Joseph of Arimathea Society, which buries homeless/indigent people. Outside of school, Scott is an active member in his parish community of St. William, which includes serving on the board of CrossRoads Ministry, an urban-immersion focused, justice-based retreat center. Scott has traveled with a Witness for Peace delegation to Chiapas, Mexico; has taught at the Sidai Orphanage in Gnong, Kenya; and has also participated in relief work in Katrina-ravaged Mississippi.
Prior to teaching, Scott was a counselor at Eckard Youth Alternatives, a wilderness therapy program for troubled youth, and he has also worked as the program writer for JustFaith Ministries youth division.
