Kathleen Rooney, SSJ

Kathleen Rooney, SSJ, was born in Bayonne, New Jersey. She has an identical twin and two older siblings. She received her bachelor of arts in psychology from Rutgers University and her master of arts in theology from Saint Michael's College, Vermont. She entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia at the age of 33. She has taught religion in high schools in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is currently a campus minister at Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, New Jersey. She has taught in adult education programs and in parish RCIA programs in Alaska, Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Prior to entering the SSJs, Kathleen was a hospital social worker and assistant director of religious education in Saint Justin's Parish, Toms River, New Jersey.
